Why are the River Source prices so much less than its competitors?

Our regular prices are $15,000 for the first month and $11,000 for the subsequent months; we discounted our price to $11,000 for the first 30 days and $7,000 for the subsequent months.

We understand these are tough economic times, therefore we tailored our prices because we at The River Source Naturopathic Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center believe that no one should lose their life to drug and alcohol addiction because they can’t afford treatment.

We intentionally set our prices low to allow all those seeking help an opportunity for a high quality residential substance abuse treatment program at an affordable cost. Our residential housing locations are not 5 star resorts. A luxury environment is not a necessary component of recovery and treatment. In fact, we believe, it can be a detriment. We do offer a safe, comfortable, clean and tranquil home-like setting.

In addition, our Naturopathic Clinic on site is staffed in conjunction with the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SWCNM) - a premier learning institute of naturopathic medicine located in Tempe, AZ. The River Source Naturopathic Clinic serves as a learning component for the college, which allows us to provide naturopathic clinic services with a low overhead.

Ask about our extra discounted fees by calling 1-888-702-4235.

Please check with your insurance company and ask if they will reimburse after you have completed treatment. We are planning to accept some insurance companies beginning spring of 2010.

Can friends and family visit me?

For the first week, our clients need to concentrate on their recovery with limited outside distractions. However, family members may contact staff to get updates on client's progress, if the client has signed the appropriate release of information papers. After seven days, clients are allowed visitors during visiting hours. Visiting hours are Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-8:00pm, Friday 4:00pm-10:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-5:00pm. For those visiting from out of state, there are several hotels nearby (within walking distance) that many of our clients family members stay in when visiting their loved ones.

Does the River Source allow smoking?

Yes, however The River Source Naturopathic Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers do promote smoking. Both facilities have two designated smoking areas, as well as areas for non-smokers to convene. All cigarettes brought on a client’s initial day must be in a sealed carton or box. It is our hope that our clients will eventually give up all harmful addictions.

Can I bring a cell phone/lap top?

Yes. However, during the first week, clients will not have access to his/her cell phone/lap top. After the first seven days, the client may be able to use his/her cell phone/lap top between 4:30pm to 6:00pm Arizona time. Use of phone and laptop shall be at the discretion of River Source staff.

Should I bring money?

Yes, although it is preferred that clients bring credit cards or debit cards instead of cash. All client money will be kept locked in the office and managed by staff on an “ as need” basis. Meals are provided, but clients are responsible for any extra snacks they might want to enjoy. Clients are also responsible for toiletries, personal needs, or extracurricular activities not provided by the program.

What type of clothes should I bring?

Bring comfortable, weather appropriate clothes and shoes. The only items we ask you not to bring are sleeveless shirts, shorts shorter than 1 inch above the knee, sheer see-through clothing, or clothing with inappropriate messages on them. There are workouts at the gym, hikes and yoga - so you will want to bring gym shoes, hiking boots, work-out clothes and a swim suit. Please bring only five to seven changes of clothes. You are allotted both dresser and closet space. Bring what fits in one suitcase plus one small bag. Please feel free to call with any questions or concerns.

How does the Dry Sauna and Vitamin IV therapy help?

Sauna Detox - helps to get the “bad stuff” out of your body and the Nutritional IV therapy puts the “good stuff” back into your body. That’s why our combination of Sauna Detox and Nutritional IV Therapy is a winning combination that makes sense and works.

Are there laundry services at the facility?

Yes. Washing machines, dryers, and laundry detergent are provided at no additional cost.

What is my room like?

We offer semi-private rooms with twin sized beds. Linens are provided by the facility, but you may want to bring your favorite pillow.

Will I have a roommate?

Yes, we want our clients to feel connected and not live in isolation.

Can I lose my privileges?

Staff may revoke privileges such as phone, lap-top, day passes, and visiting hours based on the client's lack of progress in the treatment program and or behavior issues. This step is sometimes necessary to redirect a client to focus on his/her recovery.

Do you provide family counseling sessions?

Yes, we do provide family counseling and it is very important to the treatment process. We have family counseling sessions that are facilitated by our Counselor/Life coach. We have two types of family counseling. First, is face to face counseling sessions with family members or loved ones. The second is via the phone for family members / loved ones that are out of state. Many family members cannot visit their loved one as often as they would like, so we offer family sessions at least once per week via the phone. We do recommend face to face family counseling and we welcome you as many times as you can make it. We will work with your schedule to accommodate the best opportunity for family counseling sessions.

What does holistic mean?

In simple terms, holistic refers to the whole - or complete - system. Rather than focusing on just the physical body or just the mind, or just the soul, holistic treatment centers, like The River Source, emphasize treating the whole human being- mind, body, and soul.

What does naturopathic mean?

Naturopathy is founded on the premise that people are naturally healthy, and that healing can occur through removing obstacles to a cure and by stimulating the body's natural healing abilities. The foundations of health in natural medicine are diet, nutrition, homeopathy, physical manipulation, stress management, and exercise. Naturopathic medical doctors believe in treating the "whole person" (mind, body, soul/spirit) and emphasize preventative care. Naturopaths often recommend changes in diet and lifestyle to enhance health.

How many days does River Source recommend for treatment?

We recommend a minimum of 60 days in our drug and alcohol treatment program Because we understand that the process of recovery takes time and there are many important items to be address during. We also know that some people will only be able to stay 30 days.

12/18

With dazed eyes, a dribbling of saliva coming out of her half-opened mouth, a greatly disheveled appearance and extreme tooth decay, all 84 pounds of Shannon slowly shuffled into the clinic at the River Source Naturopathic Treatment Center in March of 2007 as a last ditch effort to help break her devastating cycle of opiate dependency. Just a few short hours earlier, she had been discharged from a local Phoenix, Arizona area hospital for bilateral pneumonia, with additional diagnoses of malnutrition, depression, anxiety, heart palpitations, hyperthyroidism, and opiate withdrawal. Having unsuccessfully attempted to get off of the powerful and long-acting opiate methadone at local community detox facility prior to her admission to the hospital, her family researched the alternatives and discovered the River Source. Upon hospital discharge they brought her directly to us for detoxification and treatment. Admittedly, I had great trepidation to accept her as a patient upon seeing her extremely ill state, and yet in that moment I knew that if something was not done for her that the possibility that she would die within the ensuing weeks was very high, as neither the hospital nor the detox facility had afforded her the level and type of care that she really needed to be given a new lease on life. My colleague Dr. Dave Arneson, N.D., who also worked at the River Source at that time, and with whom I shared the responsibility of treating Shannon during her stay, later commented that it was by far the worst case of a methadone withdrawal he had ever seen.test
